Revolutionary Rubberwood Desktop

October 12, 2015

The Xdesk Encore may be new, but it is already making a sustainable splash. Mental Floss featured the environmentally friendly standing desk and praised it for its efforts.

“The gods of office furniture have gifted us with something that solves two things the modern white-collar worker has to feel guilty about: environmental destruction and sitting.”

Encore is different from other standing desks because of the material choice which is both beneficial and beautiful. Rubberwood is new to the furniture scene because until recently rubberwood was destroyed instead of used.

Rubberwood comes from rubber trees, which were mainly valued for their latex. The substance comes out when tapped, and after the latex cycle has dried up, the tree was removed and replaced. Now, the wood which would have been wasted is harvested by Xdesk and repurposed into a lovely desktop surface.

Offering an adjustable desk that is also “an environmental choice” makes the Encore standing desk put the planet on a pedestal. See the entire article here and build your planet-friendly standing desk here.
